Although this is a very difficult time for all of us and it is sometimes difficult to imagine life returning to what we used to call normality, a lot of people have found positives to help them manage their anxieties and to take a look at their lives in general and appreciate the smaller things. Many families have taken the opportunity during lockdown to blitz/decorate their homes & tidy up garden sheds etc, unearthing hidden treasures that they had forgotten existed and more importantly enjoyed quality time doing various activities with their children and loved ones within their household or support bubble, that they would otherwise often not have had time to do in their previously hectic lives. We’ve been able to see inside many celebrities houses too as they take to social media to entertain us for free whether by singing or exercise classes etc!!
We at Chelton Brown have also been busy making good use of the downtime over the Christmas and New Year period to carry out some long awaited refurbishments to our town centre offices to improve facilities for staff and to ensure ongoing compliance with Covid protocol. We came back to work on the 4th January and even though we have had to furlough some staff as certain activities are not being carried out at the moment due to Covid ie regular property visits and viewings on occupied properties, we have been busy with enquiries for Lettings and particularly with Property Sales as the department continues to expand, coupled with many people taking advantage of the stamp duty holiday, which may even be extended beyond March 2021.
Whilst business has continued since we came back from the first lockdown in May 2020, we have been mindful of maintaining Covid protocol in all aspects of the business to ensure the continued safety of both staff and clients. Hopefully now, as the vaccine is being rolled out and cases appear to be on the decline, let’s hope that some semblance of normality is on the horizon and the economy can once again start to gather momentum, raising positivity to help heal the wounds caused by this Global Pandemic.
